Welcome to Cashiers United Methodist Church Website.
We hope you will find us to be a warm, inviting, and spirit-filled congregation.
Whether you have just moved to the Cashiers area or have lived here all your life,
we'd love to have you in our faith community.  Please click on the various links to the left and below
to find more information about areas of interest to you.
Ash Wednesday Service, with Imposition of Ashes, will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.  There will be no fellowship dinner or Bible Study on this evening.  We will begin a Lenten study the following Wednesday, March 3rd, at 6:15 p.m.
Lenten Bible Study will begin on Wednesday, March 4th at 6:15 (immediately following the fellowship meal).  This study, led by Pastor Wes, is entitled "The Walk" by Adam Hamilton and will be held in The Commons.  Books are available in the church office.  This book is basic but a refreshing look at the five essential practices that are rooted in Jesus' own walk with God.  Please join us as we journey through Lent.
CUMC Scholarship application and cover letter are now available.
The Cashiers Community Chorus will begin rehearsals for the Lenten Cantata on Thursday, February 20th at 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.  This year's cantata is The Weeping Tree by Joseph M. Martin.  Please join us for this moving cantata with its heart-affirming portrait of the crucifixion and a gentle celebration of grace.  There are no tryouts - just need a love of singing!  The Lenten Cantata will be presented at CUMC on Palm Sunday, April 5th at 2:00 p.m.
Women's Winter Bible Study:  Phyllis Edwards will be leading this study based on the book, Defined - Who God Say You Are by authors Alex Kendrick and Stephen Kendrick.  Books are available in the church office and are $15.
Circles of Hope:  CUMC is responsible for one meal a month for Circles of Hope and we need volunteers for our first meal which is Thursday, February 13th.  The tasks are simple - set up for the meal, cook the meal, serve the meal, and clean up.  What a privilege this is to be involved with this effective program to lead people from "surviving to thriving."  Please contact the church with questions.
