Outreach in December 2012

A Season of Generosity
  • Inspired by God's gift of his one and only Son, our congregation responded generously with their time and effort in 2012.
    • We collected everything from socks to purses to loose change to kids' Christmas gifts to gas cards for school teachers as expressions of our care and concern for our Neighbors in Need.  A recap of some of these efforts can be found by clicking here.
    • $900 dollars was raised at a Pancake Breakfast benefitting the Smoky Mountain Pregnancy Care Center.
    • A float full of kids and some willing adults helped us garner the award for best caroling at the Cashiers Christmas Parade (see our rowdy pack of angels above).
    • We coordinated the annual bell-ringing at Ingles, helping the Salvation Army collect over $9000 in contributions.
    • Cashiers Cares!  It really does!  We felt that spirit at the Cashiers Cares event that followed the parade.  We shared a free lunch, free Santa pics and collected over $12,000 for ten wonderful local charities.
    • The entirety of our Christmas Eve Offering went to support our church's Good Samaritan Fund, a pot of money which help us respond to unanticipated crises in the lives of non-members and members alike.
