Adults

Grow Closer to God and Others 
Several Interest Groups are forming. Sign-up sheets are on the hallway bulletin board or you can call the church office at 828-743-5298.  Space is limited in each group, so sign-up now:  Art, Cooking, Container Planting, Movies, Local Authors Book Reviews, Restaurant Reviews and more.  
 
SandArtistry:  Gary Shockley will be our guest speaker on Wednesday, March 8th.  As a newly retired United Methodist pastor, Gary is also the creator and performer of SandArtistry.  This program shares the Good News in a new way that will inspire your journey of faith.  Join us at 6:30 (or 5:30 for supper - call 743-5298 for reservation) for this special night during Lent.  
 
Passover Seder Meal:  We will host a Seder on Wednesday, April 12th at 6:30.  Reservations are a must and can be made by call the church office at 828-743-5298.   This program will make both the Passover and Communion "come alive".
 
"Tongues of Fire" Chili Cook-off will on Sunday, June 4th following the 11:00 worship service.  This event will be our Welcome Back to summer residents.  There will be a sign-up sheet for participants (chili preparers) and judges (chili consumers). Watch for more details.
 
The Stephen Ministry program at CUMC is ready to help those in need.  Contact Betty Morris at BLMorris1201@gmail.com or 743-5298 with questions or discuss your or someone else's desire to have a Stephen Minister.  
  
Make Sunday mornings a part of your weekly routine.  Whether it is fellowship at Coffee in the Commons beginning at 9:30, or one of our two Sunday School classes for adults, there is something for everyone.
     The Truth Seekers Class discussions through May will be "God is Love" using scriptures from both Old and New Testaments.  This adult class is for singles and couples and meets in the Yellow Room of the Education Wing at 9:45.
     The Friendship Class is studying the minor prophets, Amos, Joel and Hosea, and their relevance to our world today.  This adult class is for couples and singles and meets in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45 a.m.
