Program Staff
The Rev. Dr. Richelle Sampl became our pastor on July 1, 2017.  Most recently she was the Director of the First United Methodist School and Childcare in Kissimmee, FL.   Richelle's doctorate degree emphasized Christian leadership and preaching.  Her strength in pastoral leadership is creative worship design through the arts, Christian education for all ages, missional outreach, leadership training and administration.  Her special interests and hobbies include drama, vocal music, gardening, nature, and travel.  Richelle received her undergraduate degree at Western Carolina University.  She attend seminary at Asbury Seminary in Kentucky and completed her doctorate in 2012 at Asbury.  Her first United Methodist appointment was in Marion, NC.  Richelle is married to Bob Sampl and together they are enjoying being back in western North Carolina.  Richelle has four grown children and one grandchild.
Betty Morris serves as Director of Music Ministries. Betty has a degree in music education from the University of Tennessee at Martin and has vast experience in teaching and leading music, childhood education, and nonprofit management.  She's a vital member of our community, serving on the boards of the Literacy Council of Cashiers and Hampton Preschool, and is an officer of the Blue Ridge Emmaus Community.  Betty and her husband Larry have three grown children.
Julia Boeve recently joined our staff as the Kreative Kidz Zone (KKZ) Coordinator.  Julia oversees all aspects of this Wednesday after-school program where children in kindergarten - 5th grade experience creative activities with the arts and God.  Julia is from South Carolina but has been active in the Cashiers community for a number of years.  She has degrees in Sociology and Psychology from Presbyterian College.  Julia's husband, Tim, is a golf pro and they have two young boys Will and John.
Susan Stewart serves as the Director of our Mother's Morning Out program.  Susan has been with the program for over 12 years and brings her education, knowledge and experience, and skills in early childhood education to the program.  Susan, originally from Florida and Charlotte, has been in the mountains of western North Carolina for many years and enjoys the cooler summers.  She, and her husband Frank, have two grown children and one granddaughter, Samantha. 
Bryan Heller is the church's accompanist providing the music for Sunday worship services in addition to special services and occasions.  Bryan is a music graduate of Western Carolina University where he studied piano performance as well as commercial and electronic music.  He plays for private functions and recently had the opportunity to play at Carnegie Hall accompanying the Show Choir of Smoky Mountain High School.  
Administrative Staff
Sarah Henry began serving on the staff in January 2009 as the church secretary but assumed the job of the church administrator in 2013 taking care of the church operations and financial needs in addition to the many other hats that she wears. Sarah is from Georgia, where she received a degree in Business from the University of Georgia. She has worked in a variety of settings, including two churches in Georgia, one as the Program Director and and the other as Church Administrator. She is married to Mike Henry and they have two grown children and four grandchildren. 
Jan Staffelbach joined the church staff in September of 2014 as the church secretary.  Jan, originally from South Carolina, has lived in the mountains of western North Carolina for a number of years.  Jan has experience in church administrative work and has been a wonderful addition to our staff.  Jan and her husband Steve have four grown children in a blended family and several grandchildren.   When not at work, Jan enjoys spending time with her extended family and gardening.
