Serving at CUMC
Faith is more than just engaging the head and the heart, it's also about being the hands and feet of Christ by serving within our church community but also by living as a follower of Christ in the community.
Want to serve within the church community? Lot's of opportunities are available.
Liturgists are need to make announcements and read scripture during worship.
Greeters help to make visitors feel welcome and included in the life of the church.
Ushers welcome people as they enter worship, assist where needed and lead the congregation during the offering and communion
AV-tech savvy is not required- run worship slides, cameras and live-stream of worship
Service in the community is vital to our Christian Witness in Cashiers and Beyond. Join us in one or more of the many ways we have to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Matthew 25: 35-36 " for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ "
Donating your time is not the only way to serve at CUMC. There are recurring costs to operating and staffing our ministry, as well as helping us do work throughout our community and the world. We believe that God calls us to give, and to give generously. We give you a chance to worship in this way by giving on-line, by sending a check in the mail to PO Box 162 Cashiers NC 28717 or by giving during our Moment of Thanksgiving during worship.
Giving is an act of Gratitude for all God has done for us and an act of Trust- knowing that God will continue to provide for our needs. .
